About The Rochester District Youth Soccer League
The Rochester District Youth Soccer League fields competitive travel soccer teams for boys and girls in age groups from U9 to U19. With more than 7,200 players on about 450 teams, the RDYSL is composed of 37 clubs in the Rochester District. The travel teams play between school years, from mid-May to late July, allowing them to compete without interfering with class attendance and homework.
The soccer league's programs include two $1,000 scholarships to one boy and one girl who are high school (or equivalent) graduates. The students must attend an accredited college the following year.
They must be either a player, assistant coach, or coach on a current RDYSL. The students are assessed on academic achievement, a soccer-related essay, and soccer experience.
The RDYSL's website provides the answers to frequently asked questions for parents, coaches, and players about scoring, standings, referee calls, and tryouts. The RDYSL is overseen by the New York State West Youth Soccer Association and is part of the U.S. Youth Soccer Association.
