About Albany's UWS
Through USL League Two, New York Rush's Albany branch offers a pre-professional pathway for men with an average age of 21 years. USL Two offers training and competitive opportunities for elite players who aspire to explore domestic and international professional soccer careers while retaining their collegiate eligibility.
With strong roots in its clubs' communities, USL League Two offers an established pathway for players in the U.S. and Canada to play at the levels of professional soccer. Of the elite players in USL Two, 68% are domestic players, and 66% are NCAA Division I players.
The regular season for USL Two runs from early May to mid-July. Each team plays 14 matches against their divisional opponents, split evenly between home and away matches. The division winners move on to the conference semifinals in late July. Then, the conference champions advance to the national semifinal playoffs, and in early August, those winners move on to the USL League Two final match.
USL Two's Path2Pro program serves as a key method of advancement to worldwide professional play. Since 2010, more than 70% of MLS draftees had played in the USL Two system. In 2018 alone, a record 66 MLS draft selections had USL Two playing experience. More than 70 players have been capped with the U.S. Men's National Team, and 13 clubs have partnerships with Major League Soccer. With more than 54% of the USL Two clubs directly affiliated with or owned by a youth club, more than 80 communities have been positively affected by these clubs.
